Silvia’s Orchestral Collaborations:

Defining Excellence in Europe's and the world's Premier Orchestras.

Silvia Careddu’s contributions to the orchestral world highlight her exceptional skill, dedication, and artistry. Silvia has collaborated with such distinguished names as, Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Marisa Jansons, Andris Nelsons, Christian Thielemann, Gustavo Dudamel, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Bernard Haitink, Cristian Măcelaru, Antonello Manacorda, as well as other distinguished personalities from the highest echelons of classical music. As a principal flutist, Silvia has supported the musicality and leadership of every orchestra she has joined.

Her journey began with an invitation from Lorin Maazel to become the Principal Flutist of his newly founded Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini. From there, Silvia went on to hold principal positions with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Wiener Symphoniker, and the Wiener Philharmoniker – Wiener Staatsoper, where her contributions were instrumental in shaping the orchestras’ distinctive sounds. Since 2021, Silvia has been the Principal Flutist of the Orchestre National de France in Paris. Her presence in this esteemed orchestra has been marked by her exquisite tone, precise technique, and ability to blend seamlessly while also standing out as a soloist when required. Silvia’s versatility and depth of expression have enriched the ensemble, enhancing its performances with her nuanced interpretations.

In addition to her permanent roles, in 2012, she became an artistic partner of the Kammerakademie Potsdam, which won the Opus Prize for the best German orchestra in 2015 and 2022. Silvia has frequently been invited to serve as a guest principal flutist with other leading orchestras, including the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and the Budapest Festival Orchestra.

I advise loooking at what didn't work, and learning from the experience in a way that ends up being transformative.
